G-6-PD DEFICIENCY QUANTITATIVE
G6PD deficiency, also called favism is an X-linked recessive genetic condition that predisposes to hemolysis (spontaneous destruction of red blood cells) and jaundice in response to certain foods and/or medication, bacteria and viral infections. It affects the males and females are usually the carriers. This test is also helpful in diagnosing Coomb's negative non-spherocytic hemolytic anaemia.
