ARSENIC

Arsenic is found widely in earth's crust and is used in some industrial applications and pesticides. Certain food types are found to have organic form of arsenic. Inorganic is harmful to humans and are carcinogenic. This evaluation helps in diagnosing arsenic intoxication. Arsenic urine is preferred method of screening for arsenic exposure because the concentrations of arsenic in blood is elevated for a short duration after it's exposure.


How to prepare for the test?

Sea food and herbal supplements should be avoided 3 days prior to sample collection. If Gadolinium or Iodine containing contrast media has been administered, specimen should not be collected for 96 hours.
