ANTI THROMBIN III

Antithrombin III, an inhibitor which has several coagulation factors. A hereditary or acquired prothrombotic state is found among patients with low concentrations of Antithrombin III. The test differentiates Type I and Type II deficiency.


How to prepare for the test?

Overnight fasting is suggested and patients should avoid anabolic steroids, heparin therapy, gestodene, oral contraceptives 3 days prior to specimen collections.
