ANTI-PARIETAL CELL ANTIBODY(APCA)SCREENING

Majority of the patients with pernicious anaemia have parietal cell antibodies present in their system. Half of the patients with gastric atrophy are found to have no signs of pernicious anaemia and this test helps evaluate patients with Pernicious anaemia and B12 immune meditated deficiency either with or without megaloblastic anaemia.
