Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The percent fPSA (% fPSA) result is used as an aid in distinguishing prostate cancer from benign prostate conditions in men aged above 50, with a total PSA of 4.0 to 10.0 ng/mL (diagnostic grey zone ) and with DRE findings not suspicious for cancer. Normal results do not eliminate the possibility of prostate cancer. Tumor markers are not specific for malignancy. Test results cannot be interpreted as absolute evidence of the presence or absence of malignant disease.
