One of the most acute phase reactant for inflammation is CRP (C Reactive Protein). Even a mild elevation of CRP has evolved as an indication of cardiovascular risk initially and myocardial infarction, recurrent coronary stroke or angina and congestive heart failure. HSCRP predicts increased cardiovascular risk among men and women. This evaluation helps to determine the risk of myocardial infarction among patients. It also assesses the risk of developing cardiovascular disease or ischemic events among individuals who do not manifest disease at present.
