This assay is used to measure the level of normetanephrine in a 24-hour urine sample. The test is used to detect Paraganglioma and Pheochromocytoma. Normetanephrine and metanephrine are 3- methoxy metabolites of norepinephrine and epinephrine. This test can be used as a first or second order screening test.
