VMA SCREENING TEST - URINE

The test is used to determine the level of VMA. Increased level of VMA suggests catecholamine-secreting tumor such as neuroblastoma and other neural crest tumours. It also helps in the monitoring of the patients who are treated for the tumours.


How to prepare for the test?

The patient is asked to avoid vanilla, banana, Theophylline, chocolate, tea, coffee, and strenuous exercise at least 3 days prior sample collection.
