Sucrose Lysis Test

sucrose lysis test is a test conducted in patients with paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria. In this test the patient's blood is mixed with isotonic sucrose solution. This helps promote the binding of red blood cells, incubation and examination for hemolysis. if the level of hemolysis than 10% indicates paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria.
