METABOLIC SCREENING QUALITATIVE
This test is used to screen development, genetic and metabolic disorders in a newborn baby. A positive result indicates the presence of an inborn defect of metabolism and requires a follow up with quantitative testing. Metabolic tests are meant to be in adjunct with targeted diagnostic investigations based on the patient's clinical presentation.
How to prepare for the test?
Provide a brief clinical and drug history over the last 3 days prior to specimen collection.
