MERCURY

Mercury is a highly toxic metal. It is present in selected industrial environments and also found in contaminated ocean fish. The most reliable way to determine the exposure of inorganic mercury is urinary measurement.


How to prepare for the test?

Eating predatory fish like sword fish, tuna and shark should be avoided at least 3 days prior to specimen collection. If Gadolinium or Iodine containing contrast media has been administered, specimen should not be collected for 96 hours. Use only specified containers available from LPL.
