IMMUNE DEFICIENCY PANEL - I, (CD4, CD8)

This is a qualitative test which is used as an aid in the management of patients infected with HIV 1. It is to be noted that this test is not used in the initial stages of diagnosis or even for confirmation of HIV 1 infection, rather it is used to understand patient prognosis and monitor the effects of anti- retroviral therapy. Keeping the CD4 count up along with anti-retroviral treatment can reduce complications for HIV patients and help them live longer. CD8 Blood test helps to know the accuracy of HIV in the body of the infected person and helps the doctors to carry out the treatment procedure.
