DIGOXIN LEVELS - SERUM

A widely prescribed for heart failure is digoxin. It is also prescribed for disturbances of cardiac rhythm. Its level occurs at 6 to 8 hours and therefore, the blood specimens should be drawn after 6 to 8 hours of drug administration. A narrow therapeutic window is present in the drug which makes the monitoring therapy mandatory.
