CYSTIC FIBROSIS (R)F 508/CFTRF508

It is a genetic disorder, which affects the lungs along with other organs like kidneys, intestine, liver and pancreas. CFTR causes cystic fibrosis. The test helps in detecting the most common mutation. This mutation is a deletion of three nucleotides that results in loss of amino acid phenylalanine. Two thirds of CF cases are due to this most common mutation.
