CHLORIDE - 24 HR URINE
This test is done to check chloride content. Decrease in chloride may be due to hypochloremic metabolic alkalosis due to prolonged vomiting, severe diaphoresis, and congestive heart failure. An increase in urine chloride may result from salt-losing renal disease, Addison's Disease, diabetic acidosis, and water deficient dehydration.
