Entamoeba histolytica is a parasitic protozoan and usually infects the digestive tract and sometimes other tissues. The antibody IgC is used to differentiate it from other liver cysts and pancreatic infections. This is the most sensitive and specific test for invasive amoebiasis. This test can detect previous and present infections.
