CSF Total protein is obtained or derived through ultrafiltration of plasma which occurs through the meninges and choroid plexus along with intrathecal production. This test is found to be appropriate to determine the increased permeability of the blood brain barrier or increased productions. High levels are found in CNS diseases or trauma conditions.
