This test is used to monitor exposure to lead or lead chelation therapy. Elevated urinary lead excretion indicates excessive lead exposure. Lead poisoning through excessive exposure is characterized by Anaemia, insomnia, muscle paralysis, neuropathy and gastrointestinal disturbance.
