With the Apollo home collection service, you have the convenience of getting blood tests at home at an affordable price without compromising on your safety.

The home visit service is especially helpful for people having weaker immunity and those who are at a higher risk of facing major complications from COVID-19. So instead of heading outside, having your blood sample collected at home is a safer way to ensure all health needs are fulfilled.

Know More About Top 5 Blood Tests

Complete Blood Count (CBC)
MRP : ₹ 300
  • CBC – What is Complete Blood Count ?
A complete blood count (CBC) is a group of tests that are used to evaluate the overall health of the body. It helps in detecting a wide range of disorders such as anemia, infection, and leukemia. It measures several components of the blood that includes red blood cells (RBC) which carry oxygen, white blood cells (WBC) which fight infection, hemoglobin (Hb) which is the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells, hematocrit which is the proportion of red blood cells to the fluid component, or plasma, in the blood and platelets that help with blood clotting.
  • CBC is done:
    • As a routine check-up
    • To monitor the overall health of an individual such as weakness, fatigue and fever.
    • In cases when there are signs and symptoms related to conditions/diseases related to blood cells such as weakness, fever, inflammation, or bleeding.
    • To monitor the treatment of condition/diseases related to blood cells such as bleeding disorders and treatment procedures such as chemotherapy
    • Many different conditions can result in increases or decreases in blood cell populations. Some of these conditions may require treatment, while others may resolve on their own.
    • Recent blood transfusions affect the results of the CBC.
    • Normal reference CBC values for babies and children are different from adults.
    • The laboratory will supply the reference intervals for various age groups, and a healthcare practitioner will take these into consideration when interpreting data.
  • Liver Function Tests (LFT)
    MRP : ₹ 700
Liver function tests are also known as LFT or Liver Panel or Liver Profile or Hepatic Function Tests. These are blood tests that help to diagnose and monitor any kind of liver disease or damage. They help in measuring the levels of certain enzymes and proteins present in the blood. They help in assessing the normal functioning of the liver.
  • LFT is done:
    • To evaluate the function of liver periodically
    • To screen for any kind of liver infections/conditions/diseases such as hepatitis
    • To monitor the progression of liver disease such as alcoholic or viral hepatitis
    • In cases of signs of liver damage such as jaundice
    • To check extent of liver damage such as in case of cirrhosis of liver
    • To monitor the progress of treatment ongoing for liver conditions/diseases
    • In cases when there is risk for injury to liver
    • To monitor in the cases where there are chances of getting side effects due to medications on liver
    • Gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) shows the level of the GGT enzyme in your system. A high reading may indicate liver disease, bile duct problems, or alcohol abuse.
    • Your doctor may ask you to fast for at least 8 hours beforehand. You also may need to avoid alcohol and some prescription drugs the day before the test because they can affect GGT levels. Talk to your doctor before stopping any prescribed medicines.
    • Many temporary conditions, such as shock, burns, severe infections, muscle trauma, dehydration, pancreatitis, hemolysis and pregnancy, can cause one or more of the liver function tests to be abnormal.
  • Kidney Function Tests (KFT)
    MRP : ₹ 700
A renal (kidney) panel is a group of tests that helps to evaluate the functioning of the kidney. The levels of various substances are measured which include minerals, electrolytes, proteins, and glucose (sugar) in the blood. The panel helps to determine the current health of the kidneys.
  • KFT is done:
    • As a routine check-up
    • To screen for kidney diseases in persons having risk factors such as high blood pressure and diabetes
    • To diagnose kidney disorders or diseases
    • To monitor the treatment of kidney diseases
    • Results of the panel are usually considered together, rather than separately. Individual test result can be abnormal due to causes other than kidney disease, but taken together with risks and/or signs and symptoms, they may give an indication of whether kidney disease is present.
    • The electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate) may be run as an electrolyte panel as part of a routine health screen or to detect a potential problem with someone's fluid or acid-base balance, which could be caused by heart disease, for example.
    • The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and the National Kidney Disease Education Program (NKEDP) recommend two tests, in addition to blood pressure measurement, to screen for kidney disease in people with increased risk: urine protein (either urine albumin, urinalysis or urine total protein) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).
    • Kidney disease often does not cause noticeable symptoms until late in the disease. That is why it is important, especially for those with risk factors for kidney disease, to have regular health exams so that any disorders or diseases that may affect the kidneys can be promptly addressed.
  • Lipid Profile Test
    MRP : ₹ 900
A lipid profile is also known as lipid panel or coronary risk panel or cholesterol panel or lipid test. It measures the levels of lipids such as low density lipoproteins (LDL), high density lipoproteins (HDL), very low density lipoproteins (VLDL), cholesterol, triglycerides, total cholesterol, non high density lipoprotein cholesterol, and cholesterol/HDL ratio in the blood. It helps to screen and monitor the risk factors of heart (cardiovascular) diseases
  • Lipid Profile is done:
    • To screen for any kind of heart conditions or diseases
    • To evaluate levels of different types of cholesterol in the blood in persons having risk factors of heart diseases such as having a family history of high cholesterol or heart attack, overweight, diabetes, smoking, and old age
    • To assess the risk of developing heart conditions or diseases
    • To monitor the treatment of ongoing heart conditions or diseases
    • The American College of Cardiology (ACC) has divided their guidelines for when to use a fasting or a non-fasting test based on the individual. As of 2016, their recommendations are as follows:
    • Evaluating the risk of heart disease in a person not treated for high cholesterol: Non-fasting acceptable.
    • Screening for metabolic syndrome: Non-fasting acceptable.
    • Screening individuals with a family history of inherited cholesterol problems or early onset heart disease: Fasting required.
    • Confirming hypertriglyceridemia or high triglycerides: Fasting preferred.
    • Evaluating pancreatitis: Fasting preferred.
    • Evaluating the risk of heart disease in a person treated for high cholesterol: Fasting preferred.
    • A non-fasting test can be more comfortable and convenient for the individual and may be safer for people with diabetes, who can experience hypoglycemia or low blood sugar when they have been fasting. It is recommended that people whose triglyceride or TG levels are found to be abnormally high during a non-fasting test have a fasting test to confirm the result. For those undergoing a non-fasting test, a result of 200 mg/dL or more of TG levels is categorized as high. The individual would usually then be asked to have a fasting triglyceride test for a follow-up.
  • HBA1C
    MRP : ₹ 400
The HbA1c, Glycated hemoglobin test is also known as glycosylated hemoglobin or hemoglobin HBA1C test. It is a common blood test that is used to diagnose type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It helps in monitoring the management of diabetes. It measures the average levels of blood glucose (sugar) for the past two to three months. It specifically measures the percentage of hemoblogin (Hb) (protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen) which is coated with sugar (glycated).
  • HbA1c is done:
    • To identify if a person has a risk of developing diabetes in future
    • To confirm the diagnosis of diabetes
    • To monitor the treatment plan of diabetes
    • Blood glucose will capture the changes in blood sugar that occur on a daily basis, the highs and the lows. Each blood glucose is a snapshot and each is different. The HbA1c is an indication that ""in general"" if glucose has been elevated over the last few months or ""in general"" it has been normal.
    • In addition to this, it is also important to remember that glycated hemoglobin and blood glucose are two different but related tests. For unknown reasons, some peoples' HbA1c may not accurately reflect their average blood glucose.
    • When conditions other than diabetes interfere with the results of HbA1C, a fasting plasma glucose, oral glucose tolerance test or fructosamine test should be used for screening or diagnosing diabetes.
    • The reference intervals serve as a guideline only. The clinician decides the target of HbA1c in known diabetics with co-morbidities like heart disease and other complications of diabetes.
    • The mean plasma glucose (MPG) or estimated Average Glucose (eAG) is a calculated result based on the hemoglobin HbA1c levels which reflects indirectly the glucose level over a period of 2-3 months before the HbA1c measurement.
    • This helps a person to relate HbA1c results to everyday glucose monitoring levels and to laboratory glucose tests.
    • It will not match up exactly to any one daily glucose test result.
