The test is used to monitor whole blood tacrolimus concentration during the therapy. This test is important, especially for people who are being co-administered CYP3A4 substrates, inhibitors or inducers. It can also be used to evaluate patient compliance and therefore adjust the dose in order to minimize toxicity.
