This assay is used for HLA typing at a minimum of 4 digits in Bone Marrow Transplants. Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing is used to match patients and donors for bone marrow or cord blood transplants. A set of alleles that specify and encode the same protein sequence for the peptide binding region of an HLA molecule excludes alleles that are not expressed as cell surface proteins and a high resolution typing result is defined.
