Antidiuretic hormone is useful in regulating water reabsorption in the kidney reducing diuresis and helps in increasing blood pressure and volume. It diagnoses the characteristics of diabetes insipidus, psychogenic water intoxication and as an adjunct in the diagnosis of syndrome of SIADH.
