Catecholamines 24 Hrs Urine
This test diagnoses pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma. This diagnosis also helps in screening children for catecholamine which secretes tumours. This test also helps in supporting a diagnosis of neuroblastoma.
How to prepare for the test?
A patient is advised to avoid amphetamines, ampicillin, beta- blockers, ephedrine, impramine, nicotine and aspirin, cimetidine, vigorous exercise, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, chocolate, tea/ coffee and banana at least 72 hours before and during specimen collection.
