Cryoglobulins precipitate spontaneously and reversibly at less than body temperature within 3 days. Cryoglobulins are insoluble at 4 degree Celsius which might aggregate up to 30-degree Celsius. It usually fixes complement and initiates the inflammatory reaction. This evaluation is useful for diagnosing patients with vasculitis or lymphoproliferative disease. This test also helps in evaluating patients with myeloma or macroglobulinemia which are symptomatic on exposure to cold.
