This test is used to diagnose the Bordetella pertussis infection by measuring the level of IgG antibodies in the blood. Bordetella pertussis (a whooping cough) is a highly contagious disease infecting the respiratory tract. A positive result is diagnostic of pertussis while a negative result does not rule it out.
