Anticardiolipin antibodies (ACA) belong to the group of Antiphospholipid antibodies that are frequently found in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and also in patients with other Rheumatic diseases. The prevalence of anticardiolipin antibodies in SLE is 24-50 %. The cardiolipin IgA isotype is usually detected with either IgG or IgM isotypes in patients with APS.
